Walla Walla and Spokane, Washington 24-29 May
After spending two nights in Portland, Oregon, drove to Walla Walla, WA to spend a few days with Nancy. We met at USAREUR in Heidelberg, Germany when I was Chief, Information, Tours & Travel, and Nancy was chief of Commercial Entertainment. Hadn't seen each other in over 20 years. She lives in a classic older house that has most of its original features, including a very rare and one of the VERY first dishwashers. Went to several wineries in Walla Walla--had no idea there were so many.
Then went to Spokane to visit with Marylou and Ron. Marylou and I shared an office with we worked at the Smithsonian. Marylou was a leather conservator. We went for several rides to see Spokane downtown and the beautiful river. Had a great walk with gorgeous scenery. Went to Davenport Hotel and the museum.
