Missoula, Butte, Montana 28 May - June . . .

The most significant event in the last few days is having the world's absolute worst Chinese dinner. Roaming around Butte, I found the most intriguing Chinese restaurant that reminded me of a typical old restaurant in Chinatown in San Francisco. Very old with individual booths painted a garish orangeish-red--wouldn't you think the food would be good? I was drawn in only to have the absolute worst ever. The first clue was the "chicken" "noodle" soup --total mush--note the saltine crackers! It was unbelievably bad--I thought maybe it was a joke it was so bad; but it was served with a straight face. Included what had to be canned bean sprouts and celery and canned fried noodles. Is it possible that "they" still sell those horrible cans of chop suey vegetables? The "chicken" was slices of chickenish cold cuts! Scarey. Saw something go by that looked liked Canadian bacon with a hard-boiled egg! Huh?

Butte, though, had absolutely great old architecture -- a super old mining town.

Spent a night in Missoula but didn't do much there.
