2-5 May, Palm Desert/Springs; Needles, CA

Saw DD in Palm Desert. We worked together in Heidelberg in the mid-80s--shared an office. Took a drive through Palm Springs--couldn't believe the windmills on the way! Go T. Boone!!! Very impressive.

Got a way cheap hotel in Needles--see below; not bad, and a pool--so decided to stay two days and get a bit organized. Had the bugmobile washed, and organized a tad.

Not much going on in Needles. Seems like I'm the only one at the hotel today--a few folks yesterday. Been seeing (hearing) rather a lot of Germans traveling the area--in off-the-beaten track as well as the big tourist areas.
