Road Trip Day 1-- Rain, Redbuds, and Roads

Red Bud trees everywhere! Absolutely spectacular!

  Rained most of the day!

Hotel in Knoxville (Jameson Inn) from Priceline - $29! Rack
rate $159! Very nice, quiet, clean.

More Redbud trees

Tulips in full bloom

So long since I've worked on web sites, forgot much, so this is pretty basic. It's Wednesday now, and I'm heading off to Nashville to see former boss and great friend Doug. Haven't seen him in several years. He hired me years ago to be the Core Director, Recreation Centers/ITT in Karlsruhe, Germany--and what a great time it was!

Got a bit scarey on way to hotel using GPS. Major road there was closed and had detour into downtown. Would still be aimlessly roaming around downtown Knoxville if not for GPS directions each time lost.

Seems like favorite expression is "I know whatcha mean" -- I've heard it about 10 times already with the only 2 people I've talked to at hotel in Knoxville.

Day 2, Nashville

Well, like duh, I forgot my camera when Doug took me on a tour of downtown Nashville. Saw the Parthenon reproduction that I wanted to see, and Doug took me to a tour of the Nashville library where he works. Amazing place. Beautiful city without the horrendous DC traffic.

Just made another reservation on Priceline for Memphis--I got an extended stay suite for $25. Looks nice, will see. (There's also about $11 for taxes and service fee.)

I'm now starting to be a Starbucks regular for the WiFi. I used to so look down on all those geek types with their computers; now I is one of them!!!! Scarey. Well, I guess I better hit the road pretty soon to get to Memphis. Planning on visiting Graceland.

I've got a full kitchen if I decide to cook up a storm! Probably just tea. Took longer to get here than I thought, so got in later than I wanted. Kinda separate bedroom.

Extended Suites, Memphis -- Not bad, but loud fridge, some street noise.

Day 3  Graceland and then to Little Rock. Staying at Little Rock Jameson Suites will be getting in late: paid $30 on Priceline.
Graceland Pictures: Kultur vultures will want to skip this part. Unreal circus atmosphere. MONEY!!!! Couldn't use flash, so some pictures not so great.

Ok, below is my Little Rock hotel: pictures didn't turn out too well--maybe too tired to hold camera still. Was also a Jameson; but not as nice as the one in Knoxville. Guy at desk said they were going to renovate. Was formerly an Amerisuite hotel. All hotels so far have had microwaves and fridges.

Friday Day 4 heading to Fort Smith, AR, Comfort Inn 479 484 0227 has an indoor pool and jaccuzzi!!! 'YESSSS!!!!
